Kiokii Expiry Scanner
In January of 2025, store associates started to find that products that the store carried since opening 2 years ago were starting to expire.
While this is a problem for existing stores, it becomes an even bigger problem for newly opened stores as products are reallocated between stores (older stores share their stock with newer stores). In other words, newly opened stores are stocked with products (possibly soon-to-expire) that sat on the shelves of the older stores.
Kiokii combatted this problem by having all stores check for expiring products on a monthly basis. On the 1st to the 10th of each month, store managers would check their stores for expiring products. They would then document everything on an a shared google sheet.
cons
While the new documentation process ensured that all stores were aligned in their expiring products, it was time consuming for managers on duty to continually check for expiring products and documenting everything into a shared google sheet.
